'Ek Rang ni Varta'
Ek Se Anek is celebrating the onset of summers with children!
'Ek Rang ni Varta' - our varta is the mythological story of Kaliya mardanam (duel between Krishna and the poisonous snake Kaliya, who was polluting the waters of Yamuna). With one story and multiple interpretations, lets enjoy the beauty of these many imaginations that will be explored through a painting workshop and a dance performance.
We invite you all, our little friends, to exhibit any painting, drawing, sketch, craft or object that you have made prior for the exhibition. For those who want to draw with us, join us on Saturday, 28th April 5.30pm for the workshop!
Venue: Dalpatram Chowk, Off Relief Road

'Creatures of the Earth' by Space - Dalpatram chowk
Again with 'Ek se Anek' the same evening Space Theater Ensemble performed 'Creatures of the Earth' at Dalpatram Chowk, off Releif Road. A 37 minute long piece combining jazz and movement directed by Hartman de Souza, with music composed, arranged and played by Steve Siqueira. The performance revisits the legend of Paikeachi Zor, a sacred spring in the forests of Quepem in South Goa.
We chose to perform at this chowk which the government has presented this community for theater with the statue of Dalpatram who was a Gujarati poet. The performance by Andrea Pereira, Stephie Madurel and Terence Jorge did not use a particular language, to the sounds of the creatures the children effortlessly reacted and became a part of the performance. When the performance ended the high levels of enthusiasm of the kids and the group was channelized into playing theater games for a while enacting sounds and gestures of their creatures. Late in the night we then wound up with delicious dinner that they offered us.
