First Brief

Hello friends,

We would like to invite you to join us as a group. A Group …….(Still untitled) aims to explore alternative spaces, mediums of expression and art in Ahmedabad. We believe that its time art steps out and interacts with the everyday.

We are inviting you to be a part of this group, to explore alternative art practice in Apnu Ahmedabad.

‘Ek se anek’, is a pilot event-an attempt to derive multiple interpretations of a common concept. Ten artists from different artistic backgrounds will explore a common concept and exhibit it collectively. We, artists will be part of an experiment to explore the concept. As we are looking conducting the event at alternative spaces we can extend the idea to let the art participate with the space and its people. This will provide us an exciting opportunity to challenge our creative abilities.

We expect the conceptual framework for every individual artist work to be born out of an experience of the concept and its relationship with the site. Thus we can assume a freedom to participate and interact with the site (and the people) and in this the process perhaps the site will derive new meanings (from us or for us)
