On Mahashivratri, our artist friend from Delhi, Manmeet Sandhu did a performance outside a Shiv Mandir, with the various stalls selling thandai and bhang we were 'Selling Hunger' on a day when many people also fast. The tempting food aromas have curiously played the dual role of generating hunger in a few as well as killing hunger in others by generating a feeling of fullness (in those on diet). The project exploited and explored this ambiguity by selling people hunger and by selling (off) people's hunger by replacing actual food with food aromas.
