Second edition of SELLING HUNGER and other projects at Manek Chowk

Our second edition of SELLING HUNGER.

Manak chowks open space changes character three to four times in a day from a jewellery market in the day to a food court in the night, Ek se Anek gathered for three projects involving performance art in the night. Our artist friend from Delhi, Manmeet Sandhu did a performance, with the various food stalls 'Selling Hunger' - The tempting food aromas have curiously played the dual role of generating hunger in a few as well as killing hunger in others by generating a feeling of fullness (in those on diet). The project exploited and explored this ambiguity by selling people hunger and by selling (off) people's hunger by replacing actual food with food aromas. Nisha challenged peoples comfort zones and codes of conduct draping herself in society symbols of a 'woman' and asked people to tell her a story. Awni wrote her poems behind some of her drawings, Maulik made origami birds with those papers with the kids, and they made us some origami planes, balloons and boats.
